Give Thanks to Your Hospital Radiothon

The inaugural Heart FM Give Thanks to Your Hospital Radiothon is taking place on Thursday, October 12, 2017. For twelve hours, stories about Woodstock Hospital’s Maternal Child Unit will take over the airwaves. It is the Woodstock Hospital Foundation’s hope that this event will encourage listeners to make donations to support the purchase equipment for the Maternal Child Unit. Marking the 20th Anniversary of the Dialysis Unit

Woodstock Hospital’s Dialysis Unit opened in August of 1997. Woodstock Hospital Dialysis Unit is a satellite unit out of the London Health Sciences Centre, allowing patients to receive treatment in their own community while still having access to the entire renal team.

Integrating EHR on Bedside Monitors

Woodstock Hospital was the first regional hospital in Canada to go live with an interface that collects patient data from the vital signs monitor to the Cerner electronic health record (EHR). The interface will be integrated into other areas of the hospital, with capabilities to connect to other equipment such as infusion pumps and ventilators. Unveiling our “CogWall”

Woodstock Hospital has unveiled an interactive wall on an inpatient unit that is meant to stimulate a patient’s cognition, so it has been named the “CogWall”. The wall is located on the Complex Continuing Care Unit (2100). Patient’s admitted to this unit are typically older adults with complex medical and intellectual needs and can remain in hospital for long periods of time. Accreditation with Exemplary Standing

On December 20, 2016, Accreditation Canada released Woodstock Hospital’s accreditation decision – Accreditation with Exemplary Standing –  the highest accreditation award issued by Accreditation Canada. The voluntary Accreditation process is one of the most effective ways for a hospital to examine and improve the quality of service it provides by comparing it to national standards of excellence.
