Woodstock Hospital became 1 of 74 Pay for Results (P4R) hospitals in Ontario in April of 2014. The goal of Woodstock Hospital’s Front Lines Improving Performance (FLIP) team is to optimize the quality of care including patient safety and satisfaction, while reducing a patient’s length of stay at Woodstock Hospital. From the beginning concept, Woodstock Hospital was designed with a host of environmental and energy best practices in mind. Once construction of the new facility was completed, the hospital applied for and achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification at the silver level through the CaGBC (Canadian Green Building Council) and was the first hospital in Ontario to achieve LEED certification, and the first to achieve LEED Silver in Canada. For the past three years we have diverted over 30% of our general waste including the diversion of operating room linen wraps, organic waste, air filter recycling and using reusable totes for receiving supplies, eliminating excess packaging at the source.
