Interventional Ultrasounds Procedure

PLEASE REVIEW
Patients MUST arrive 20 minutes before their appointment time. Patients arriving late may be rescheduled.

Please be aware that this is a “Fragrance Free” facility.

PREPARATION
– Recent INR & PTT required prior to procedure. If results of INR & PTT are greater than high end of normal, ordering physician should discuss results with radiologist to confirm if procedure can be done.
– No blood thinners (including aspirin), for 10 days prior to procedure (If there is a concern regarding this, ordering physician should discuss with radiologist)
– If there are modifications to the prep after discussion with the radiologist, please notify Ultrasound Department
– Continue your other medications as usual
– Nothing to eat or drink after midnight
– No gum chewing or smoking for 8 hours prior to and up to appointment time

POST EXAM CARE
– Normal activities may be resumed after biopsy although no heavy lifting on day of procedure is recommended
– Resume blood thinners at the discretion of ordering physician

DIRECTIONS
Park in the front (north) parking lot, located off Juliana Drive and enter the hospital through the Main Entrance.

– Check in at Diagnostic Imaging/Cardio Respiratory Reception on Main floor
– After registering, proceed to Waiting Area #4, room M894
