Woodstock Hospital’s Dialysis Unit is a satellite unit out of the London Health Sciences Centre, allowing patients to be in their own community and still have full access to the entire renal team. The renal dietitian, pharmacist, social worker, nurse practitioner and nephrologist can be reached by phone or video conferencing on computers or tablets.

The Woodstock Hospital Dialysis Unit recently celebrated two decades of impressive service and growth.  Presently, the unit has 36 patients with 9 open stations and capacity for future growth. Patient’s wishes for home hemodialysis and kidney transplant are always respected and followed through in collaboration with LHSC. The team at Woodstock Hospital promotes health education, autonomy of care, as well as care decision guidance while respecting patients wishes and individual goals of care.

Dialysis patients are also actively engaged and well represented on the Dialysis Unit Council which meets regularly.
