Staff and volunteers are provided infection control best practice training and education through a variety of forums such as orientation, policies and procedures and
continuous point-in-time education. There are also various opportunities for patients and visitors to engage in infection control awareness while at our facility. We reference best practices guidelines and most current research to provide high-quality education.
In the interest of patient safety, our department collaborates with internal and external partners. Some examples include the Ministry of Health and Long Term
Care, Southwestern Public Health Unit Woodstock, Public Health Ontario, other regional healthcare facilities and local emergency services. We rely on the collaboration with other programs and services to help us with keep our hospital a safe environment.
