Lymphoscintigraphy Sentinel Node Preparations

PLEASE REVIEW
Patients should arrive 20 minutes before their appointment time. Patients arriving late may be rescheduled.
Please be aware that this is a “Fragrance Free” facility.

PREPARATION
– Please follow instructions from Ordering Physician
– Arrive at Nuclear Medicine Department at 6:45am, unless otherwise stated

CONSENT AND INJECTION
– An injection is required, so patient MUST be capable of giving informed consent (If incapable, the substitute decision maker must accompany the patient)
– Please bring your current medications and a list of allergies

DIABETIC DEVICES:
Glucose sensors and insulin pumps can be damaged by X-rays, radiation and magnetic fields. Glucose sensors and insulin pumps must be removed immediately prior to your test. Insulin pumps may be restarted following the test. Glucose sensors cannot be reinserted – you must use a new sensor following the test. For any questions regarding your device, please contact the manufacturer of your device.

DIRECTIONS
Park in the front (north) parking lot, located off Juliana Drive and enter the hospital through the Main Entrance.

– Check in at Diagnostic Imaging/Cardio Respiratory Reception on Main floor
– After registering, proceed to Waiting Area #2, room M801

Please do not bring small children to your appointment unless accompanied by another adult.
